Fort George - Built following the Battle of Culloden, this is your chance to visit one of the most outstanding artillery fortifications in Europe Fort George was built in 1747 it has never seen a shot fired in battle.

It is one of the finest examples of Hanoverian military architecture anywhere in the world.  Today it is a working military barracks and houses the museum of the Seaforth Highlanders.
